How is to be a scientific researcher? Is this profession an elitist one? Are there women scientific researchers - or better, are women able to do scientific research? Can women be mothers and also have a career as a scientific researcher? Am I (student at Colegiul National Emil Racovita) able to become a researcher? What should I do to become a scientific researcher?
Women/ men in sciences should be the highest level qualified women/ men segment in the society. They have high education, high level skills, high level information, access to international contact. They have lots of responsibilities, they work in stress conditions.
These were RO-students ideas and questions related to scientific research and women in sciences. One of the possibilities to find answers at all these questions and also to find new information was to interview scientific researchers, men and women.

The interviews were taken at the researcher's work place, and so, it was more "real". Students interviewed the researchers in small groups, not to disturb the institution activity, but they recorded the interviews for the whole class. There were interviewed 13 scientific researchers/ medicine doctors.
Steps in realizing the interviews:
- Realizing the guide for interviewing- establishing questions with the students by using the Think-Pair-Share cooperative discussion strategy;
- Identifying the people who are being interviewed - e.g.: diversity in specializations, diversity in the type of researching (theoretical/ experimental research);
- Contacting the people who should be interviewed and fixing the date and the hour for the interview;
- Identifying the pairs of students who are going to take the interview (interests and participation of the students were taken into consideration);
- The interviews (tapes and photos);
- Copying the tapes on a CD;
- All the students listen to the interviews and receive a copy of the CD;
- Elaborating the questions/ tasks to be answered when listening the interviews and after it.

Students found out many answers to their questions and also new information. Some samples of their findings/ work can be seen in the Products page of this Website.
