Women in sciences - Marie Curie (RO)

Date: 2006-06-24

Maria Sklodowska was born November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. She would become famous for her research into radioactivity, and was the first woman to win a Nobel prize.
We, Iulia Rasinar and Radu Gadei, students in the 10th grade at Colegiul National Emil Racovita, were very impressed by Marie Curie's words:
"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals.
To that end, each of us must work for our own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful."

We decided to try to find out more about Marie Curie's life and achivements. In the file, you can read our findings.
